About me
Why are species and populations where they are? Why, when, and where are species more likely to go extinct? I am an ecologist trying to answer those questions by developing approaches to spatially identify threats to biodiversity, and to reveal how such threats change over time. In my research I use quantitative methods which help to understand how different factors, such as land-use change, hunting pressure and climate change, shape current biodiversity patterns. I have a passion for widlife conservation, and with my research, I try to find solutions to conservation problems in anthropogenic landscapes, by conducting large-scale policy relevant research. Currently, I am a researcher at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences as part of the Empty forests and extinction filters project, focused on understanding and predicting species vulnerabilities to extinction in the tropics. |
